Myths Discredited In LaserJet Toner Blogs
One website with LaserJet toner blogs recently dismissed some myths about remanufactured toner cartridges and genuine brand name toner cartridges. One of the main arguments for using brand name toner cartridges was that each cartridge was specifically made for your printer. Because it was made with the same quality workmanship as your printer, you were guaranteed that it was going to succeed. The humorous portion of this argument on the website for LaserJet toner blogs was that they never mentioned remanufactured cartridges are made using the same exact cartridges as the OEM.
In fact, remanufactured cartridges are mostly composed of parts from the brand name manufacturer. Once a third party receives the cartridge, they open the cartridge and inspect all of the internal parts. If a part looks too worn down and needs to be replaced, then they purchase a replacement part and install it. Once the cartridge is ready for use, they refill the toner and test it thoroughly. If the toner cartridge passes the tests, then it is packaged and ready to be sold.
This means that a remanufactured cartridge is also made specifically for the printer, and a majority of the cartridge was made by the printer manufacturer, so that myth was discredited. It was also said that remanufactured cartridges do not have a high level of reliability. It is obvious that this is false as well. If the technology is the exact same as the printer manufacturer, and the cartridge undergoes the same testing before being sold, then a consumer should be confident in the product.
Testing has shown that remanufactured cartridges have the exact same failure rate as brand name toner cartridges. This simply shows that the rumors spread about remanufactured cartridges exist in order to deter consumers from purchasing the low cost toner alternatives.
