Jesse Huisken
Biography
Jesse Huisken has published poetry, fiction and drawings with the small presses BookThug, Expert Press and House Press, and under the auspices of his own imprint, Wood and Coal (recently renamed Language Points). He is currently working on several sequences of paintings and text responding to found photographs, as well as a fragmentary manuscript, from which he will read at Test, called “Vacation.”
Poet's Notes
“Vacation” is a series of small fragments which only come to resemble poems under the eyes of a paranoid reader. They are perhaps an attempt to make a claustrophobic world of overlapping non-events, in which only alienated images become free.
“Dark Lighters” is a series of linked words which supply the reader with minimal stimulus to their basic categories of existence. Words that might be mistaken for something interesting.
“Commercial” (if ready) is some reproductions of images, reproductions of unfinished paintings and drawings of those images, and some captions.
